Boathouse

Hidden behind the reeds of the Dutch ‘Spiegelplas’ a surprising
boathouse created by Marieke Tobias is located.
The captain’s longboat of the owner was normative for a design
that forms an organic unity with it’s surroundings.
Each of the four rafters bearing the roof is made out of two
parts, the wooden principal rafters were laminated and treated
with transparent red cedar stain. The side walls were timbered
with western red cedar boards. The roofing consists of sheets of
corrugated steel, anthracite-coloured. The edges of the roof
were finished with a rim of set steel sheet in the same colour.
